You’re in Heaven — 2026

Description

For four years now, thousands of Ukrainians, military and civilians, have been captured and disappearing behind the walls of Russian pretrial detention centers and prison colonies.

Russian authorities create there torture-like conditions: no medical care or hot water, food that's impossible to eat, and daily beatings. Every minute of life there depends on the whims of security forces or orders handed down from above. And no one knows how it will all end — with an exchange, a prison sentence, or death.

My role

I was working as a producer for this film, and my main challenge was to create for a viewer full blown immersion into the hell-like circumstances of Russian prison abroad through locations, narrative and cinematography. I was able to find ideal locations within the budget and negotiate so that filming would take place there. Moreover I worked really close with two camerapersons so that together we could create the right atmosphere for the film.
